Jason Hoffman is a thought and execution leader in the industrialization trend for datacenters where he pioneered hardware and software designs that could drive wholesale supply chain efficiencies while making these systems highly accessible and usable to developers.
Jason is currently the Chief Strategy Officer at Switch.com, and is also responsible for their federal business towards the DOE, DOD and IC. He is also a Managing Partner at S8 Advisory Partners, a board, shareholder and corporate development advisory firm.
Jason was the founding CEO of MobiledgeX, Inc., an edge computing company acquired by Google in 2022; a CTO and Product Area head at Ericsson AB in Sweden; and the founder and CTO at Joyent, a cloud computing company acquired and still operated by Samsung. He was also the founding Chair of the Board at NPM, Inc. (acquired by GitHub).
Previous to his work in computer science, Jason earned his PhD at the Burnham Institute with Erkki Ruoslahti, MD PhD, and earned a BS/MS in Biochemistry from UCLA. He studies adaptive complex systems with interests in Cancer, Infectious Diseases, Aging, Systems Biology, and Synthetic Biology.
His hobbies are Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Combat Sports and Practical Shooting. He's a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and a certified coach with USA Wrestling.
